According to new information, the Warner is thinking about an adaptation on the character of Mera played by Amber Heard, soon to return in Aquaman 2.

While we were wondering if Mera (Amber Heard) could die in order to silence the controversy about her return to Aquaman 2 since the end of his trial against Johnny Depp, here is a news that should not be unanimous among the fans! According to the site Bounding into Comics , the Warner would not consider getting rid of the character of Mera since the teams would even consider offering half of Arthur Curry ( Jason Momoa ) his own movie. However, let the public be reassured, we also learn that the solo feature film would only be in the discussion phase, no official project having obtained the green light.

If this information were to be confirmed, it would mean that

the latest petition launched against Amber Heard wishing the departure of the actress from Aquaman 2 after Johnny Depp was fired from Fantastic Beasts 3 , would clearly not have had the desired effect on the studios. This finding does not appear surprising when we compare the requests for Amber Heard with those to which Brie Larson was the subject after the release of Captain Marvel on the side of the House of Ideas. Moreover, through film productions like Birds of Prey and projects like Supergirl , it would not be surprising if the Warner chooses to give pride of place to DC heroines in the future. However, the production of the solo feature film on Mera will most certainly depend on the success of Aquaman 2 in theaters.
