After the events of Avengers Endgame, the Hulk could become the so-called World War Hulk, the dark and wicked version of the green giant.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame , the future of Hulk was very uncertain. If he was whispering that he could come back as Jennifer Walters' cousin in She-Hulk , a theory also wanted that the green giant transforms into World War Hulk in Avengers 5 . The first hypothesis has been confirmed – Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role in the series Disney , but the other assumption is not to be buried. Indeed, the intrigue that arose in Endgame , in which Bruce Banner got the better of the Hulk – without really accepting the second facet of his personality – could set up the mean version of the character.

In the comics, the Avengers decide to send the Hulk to space to prevent the unstable side of his personality from doing great damage. Abandoned and betrayed, the Hulk then returns to Earth to take revenge on all, and the kind Bruce Banner has no place in his life. All his hatred of the past only grew during his isolation, and only the new Avengers would be able to stop it. To make this work, Marvel could make World War Hulk the main plot of Avengers 5 , what a bonus to offer a role of size to one of the favorite characters of the public.
