Phase 4 of the MCU appears to be all about crossovers, with several films having more than one Avengers cast.
By the end of Avengers Endgame , Thor had found his place with the Guardians of the Galaxy. A friendship that obviously goes beyond this blockbuster, since Chris Pratt aka Star-Lord has officially joined the cast of Thor 4, Love & Thunder . The latter won't be the only one to visit another Avengers, since Doctor Strange is expected to come to the aid of Peter Parker in Spider-Man 3 , in addition to sharing poster it with Scarlet Witch and potentially Loki in Doctor Strange 2 . Crossovers aren't something new in the MCU, but so far it has mostly been the signing of the Avengers movies. Things will visibly change during phase 4 which, in addition to signing the arrival of the multiverse, could well become the phase of all crossovers.
Released in 2012, Avengers was a big event in the world of superhero movies . After introducing most of the characters on the team, the Marvel Studios have chosen to bring them together in the same blockbuster. This film-by-film construction thus became their trademark, and each new blockbuster bringing together the Avengers served as a stage in the cinematographic universe they were building . The only exception being the movie Captain America: Civil War . At least, not for very long since, as we mentioned above, Thor 4 , Doctor Strange 2 and Spider-Man 3 will also include other characters from the MCU.
When you think about it, this growing number of crossovers during phase 4 is quite logical, since it includes not only movies, but also series. The upcoming Marvel Studios shows on Disney will indeed be very connected to the upcoming blockbusters, and we can therefore expect that the fates of the heroes of the MCU will intersect. This is also what will probably happen for Doctor Strange 2 , officially linked to WandaVision , but also potentially to Loki . Black Widow , The Eternals and Shang-Chi will therefore be perhaps the only feature films to focus on one character (or group of characters in the case of the Eternals) during phase 4. There is one however one encounter that fans of Marvel Studios await looking forward to it, and not really coming from the MCU. This is the crossover bringing together Spider-Man and Eddie Brock, and who could also happen in Venom 2 .
