Season 2 of The Mandalorian teased the survival of several members of the Empire of Darth Sidious. Now, how did these officers escape the destruction of the Death Star?
The First Trilogy Star Wars ended with the victory of the Rebellion facing the Empire of Darth Sidious. Since then, the universe of the franchise created by George Lucas has extended, to such an extent that it now benefits from spin-offs capable of linking the events of the first films to the adventures of unpublished characters. This is particularly the case with the series Disney The Mandalorian which during its season 2 did not stop evoking several key moments of the first trilogy. Whether it is the destruction of Alderaan, the arrival of a famous Jedi facing Baby Yoda and Din Djarin or the explosion of the Death Star, the show created by Jon Favreau did not hesitate to wink at moments and characters Memories from previous episodes.

However, one of them caught our attention since during his mission, Mando crosses paths with an Imperial officer who claims to have survived the destruction of the Death Star. An unprecedented detail that prompts us to wonder how certain members of the Empire were able to survive the attack on reactor. As surprising as it may seem, this is not the first time that the cannons Star Wars evoke the Survivors of the Death Star. This is particularly the case of the novel Lost Stars having portrayed Thane Kyrell and Ciena Ree, these two characters having respectively escaped the attack of the Rebels after having been tasked to investigate Dantooine as well as in the system close to Alderaan. A duty that allowed them to escape the explosion, most certainly like several other members of the Empire. Moreover, this could ultimately explain the survival of the Empire of Dark Sidious and its perpetuation in The Mandalorian, especially since the latter was not perceived as a dictatorship by the whole galaxy .
