What is episode 7 of The Mandalorian season 2 worth? We tell you everything!

Today is Friday, which means that a new episode of The Mandalorian is available on Disney ! As every week, the editorial 'of melty offers to give you its verdict, consisting of a summary of the plot and his personal opinion. But first, let's start with a short synopsis of the situation: In “The Tragedy”, Baby Yoda was kidnapped by the minions of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). Obviously, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) has sworn to find him! To do this, he recruited his ally Cara Dune ( Gina Carano ), now Marshall, as well as the duo Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). We therefore find this small troop at the beginning of episode 7 with the firm intention of carrying out the “rescue of Grogu” mission!

Migs Mayfeld (Bill Burr), a sniper from the first season, is also recruited at the very beginning of this new adventure. See the article : Dirty Dancing: Patrick Swayze (Johnny) replaced in the sequel? Jennifer Gray (Baby) reveals what it is. Indeed, Din Djarin must access an internal Imperial terminal located on Morag in order to retrieve information on Moff Gideon's ship. To enter this fiercely protected base, the two characters pose as Stormtroopers, which causes an awkward moment during which Mando must remove his famous armor in Beskar … While they drive a kind of tank to the enclosure of their enemies, they are attacked by opponents of the Empire, and saved in extremis by TIE fighters! Which you will agree is quite ironic.

Especially since this “exploit” on the part of the duo causes thunderous applause from the Stormtroopers, which offers a fun reversal of the situation with the jubilant Rebel scenes from Star Wars . Yes, even on the side of the Empire, there are heroes! Mayfeld and the bounty hunter, always dressed up as soldiers, do not go unnoticed, and are invited for a drink by a superior. He explains to them why the Empire will soon rule the galaxy again: “ Everyone thinks they want freedom, but what they really want is order. When they go to realize it, they will welcome us with open arms “. A spiel that earned this villain a blaster from Mayfeld, and the duo to take flight before being killed by Stormtroopers!

And there you are wondering why the title of our review is “ Din Djarin shows his true face among Stormtroopers “. The answer is that the bounty hunter takes off his helmet to complete his mission, and it's the first time we've seen his face so much! An event which does not prevent this episode 7 from being after all quite commonplace. Nothing of note is happening, and we don't see Baby Yoda for a moment onscreen, which never happened. Unlike the excellent episode 5 of The Mandalorian season 2 with the famous Ahsoka Tano , this serves as a filler. Fortunately, it ends on an enticing note: Din Djarin's message to Moff Gideon, threatening, who tells him that he will do everything to get Grogu back … We can't wait to see that! And to discover the second reference to Iron Man hidden in episode 6 of The Mandalorian season 2 , it's right here.
